CMGC Presidents Letter
Our May general meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, May 14. A BBQ dinner starts at 5:00pm, with the meeting starting at 6:00pm. We encourage all members to attend. The dinner is a great opportunity to get an update on the Club and meet other members.
Faced with rising costs, and in order to maintain the strong financial position of the Club, your Board has unanimously voted to recommend raising the annual dues by $15 and increasing the initiation fee from $300 to $400. Those currently on the waitlist will be grandfathered at $300. A vote on these increases will be held at the May general meeting.
CMGC has not raised dues or the initiation fee for at least 10 years. Tournament entry fees will not increase, and the food and beverage credit of $30 per tournament will remain unchanged. The Board works hard to maintain the right number of members in the club to fill our tournaments, with as few players as possible on the standby list. With the ability to play on the wonderful Coronado golf course, CMGC membership remains a great value. No wonder we have a 5-6 year waitlist!
We will again be holding our golf club/ball drive for Pro Kids – First Tee of San Diego. Donate your used clubs and balls to Pro Kids, a local non-profit dedicated to growing the game of golf while supporting youth in need. Drop them off at the pro shop beginning April 29, or bring them to the May general meeting. Two years ago CMGC members donated a whole van full of clubs and balls, which the kids really appreciated.
