2024 was an exceptional year for team play at Coronado.
Our SCGA team finished first in its division ahead of Torrey Pines, San Vicente and Steele Canyon. Balboa Park has historically been a tough team to defeat, but Coronado prevailed against them in the first round of the playoffs. We advanced to play El Camino CC with the ultimate winner being the top team in San Diego County. We unfortunately lost by only 2 points. We hope to build on that success next season.
Our Senior Team plays home and away matches against 14 other teams throughout San Diego County. It’s a long season going from March to November. For the first time ever, Team Coronado finished in first place! After winning our first 8 matches, the team cooled down a bit but did well enough to finish on top. Just like the SCGA team, we defeated Balboa Park in the first round of playoffs. Sadly, in the semi-finals, Singing Hills had the upper hand defeating us and ultimately being playoff champions.
Team Coronado represented our Club well in 2024. Our opponents will be gunning for us in 2025 but we intend to keep the momentum going in 2025.
